You might not need an electric streetbike in the near future, but it’s still cool to know that the prototype is complete. CRP Racing has just introduced the Energica at the EICMA motorcyle show in Italy.

The Energica slides an all-electric powertrain with 100kW of power into a classic Italian-style two wheeler the is capable of speeds up to 220 km/h, 16kgm of torque, and 150km of range on a single charge, features OZ forged aluminum braking discs and a power train efficiency around 95 percent. The niftiness is only compounded by front double caliper radial mounts, a single rear fixed caliper, digital multifunction LCD dashboard and LED headlights. Pricing begins with a deposit of €1,500 ($2042 US) and doesn’t include VAT. Of course, the Energica is still in the development phase, so final pricing and specifications might change. Still, if an electric streetbike isn’t at least as cool as a penguin in a freezer, then something’s wrong with your freezer.

Thanks to the longstanding hardware exploit, it only ever takes a few tweaks here and there to get the latest iOS releases tether jailbroken on most devices. But here’s the 5.0.1 version, using redsn0w.

As usual, this version doesn’t include the iPad 2 or iPhone 4S, but it’s a start for anyone who’s been having enough battery issues with iOS 5 to be craving 5.0.1′s improvements, or just wants to get their hands on the new gestures for iPad without losing their jailbreak apps. [RedmondPie]

Once again the little town of Helmsley was flooded with a wash of bikes, trikes, and all things biker-ish… friday 17th until the 19th June 2011 seen this quite little town explode with a mesmerising amount of motorbikes that every person can appreciate & drowl over, I know i did, the amount of work and skill used in each and every machine that passed me,  captivated the imagination and passion these guys these guys put into each build…

This year, again I took the journey with my bro ShugTech, along with a few old faces & I mean Old :) also a few farmyard virgins to which they had an amazing time & nothing bad happened to them or there tents :P, (note to self: dont get to pissed and forget about the virgins :P )

The ride down for us, was just a haze, one minute we were in Glasgow then burger king appeared at Scotch corner, which was a welcome stop, then we were there unpacking (PARTY TIME)…

The bands & entertainment this year was excellent, for me the highlights were, as always, the dance tent, bike show, the massive streetfighter big-top tent where we seen the sugar bullets along with quite a few other bands, although being as drunk as i was, totaly forgot the names.

Over in the Back Street heroes tent we had a chance to see Limehouse Lizzy, a fantastic ThinLizzy tribute band which to some was their highlight, to finish of the weekend the annual stripper made her appearance, but I missed the whole thing (due to over endulging)… fortunately we have friends in very close proximity with a nice little HD cam, (video soon)…

my only disappointment this year (along with the weather), was the lack of rodeo bull :) All I wanted to do was beat my 1:05 time from last year…(UPDATE: Now I’ve been told that the Bull was there, Dam Vodka, making me miss that…)

Warning

AUX Power Cable

The X360USB PRO comes with an AUX Power cable. This is NOT to be used unless it is required. Your X360USB PRO will function with no problems on 99% of USB ports as they have a 500ma output. A tiny amount of USB ports only carry 100ma. The AUX Power is supplied as a worst case scenario for those instances (you would plug it into a USB capable power supply unit such as the iPod’s power brick). DO NOT use the AUX Power cable if your computer supports 500ma as you may cause damage to your X360USB PRO. The best way to test is it just set everything up to see if drivers install, jungle flasher detects the drive etc.

There are two firmware versions of the Benq VAD6038, the 64230C and the 64930C. This guide covers both models. To find out which version of Benq drive you have simply look at the label and you will see “FW Ver.: 64X30C”

Here is an example of the Benq VAD6038 DVD label. As you can see we have highlighted the F/W version – in this case it is the 64930C.

Before you connect everything you first need to install the X360USB Pro Drivers. These are signed and work in Windows XP / Vista / 7 both 32bit and 64bit. Download the small driverpack and plug in the X360USB PRO USB Cable. When it asks for the drivers simple point to the files you saved and they will install with ease. You are now ready to hook everything else up.

It’s very easy to hook up your Benq VAD6038 to your PC. Simply connect the DVD power supply (in this case the Xecuter CK3 Pro) to the DVD drive (take care to make sure it is fitted the correct way – the wrong way can damage your drive) and to a molex power cable from your PC or from an external Molex power supply. Then connect the SATA cable from the DVD drive to the X360USB Pro, and then connect the USB cable from the X360USB Pro to a USB port on your Netbook/Notebook/Laptop/Desktop computer.

OK we are ready to begin:

1. Load up Jungle Flasher and…

(1) Select the MTK Flash 32 Tab
(2) Make sure the I/O Port is set to 0×000
(3) The X360USB pro should be detected as Primary Master and the Firmware version will be displayed (in this case it is Ver 0.17)
(4) The Benq VAD6038 should be detected and ready to work with

2. Now we need to put the drive into Vendor Mode.

(1) Click the Benq UnLock button
(2) The drive is now in vendor Mode

3. Now to read the firmware from the drive. Simply click on the Read button.

4. You will be asked to save the firmware file. I just created a directory called FW on the C: drive and saved it there.

5. The following part of the guide is solely to show 3rd party tools working with the X360USB PRO. You must own any game that you backup and we do not condone any kind of piracy and this is purely for educational purposes only. We do not provide any of the LT Plus firmware files and they are not provided or included with Jungle Flasher so do not ask for them. Once the drives firmware has been read Jungle Flasher will ask you if you want to auto-load the Benq iXtreme firmware. Click Yes.

6. Everything is now loaded into Jungle Flasher and you are ready to go. lets explain whats happening on the screen at the moment.

(1) The source buffer is loaded with the firmware from your Benq drive. It shows here that it is 64930C Stock Firmware
(2) This is your DVD key – always keep this safe !
(3) This is the iXtreme LT firmware auto loaded into the target buffer

7. Now you are ready to program your drive.

(1) Select the MTK Flash 32 tab
(2) Click the Write button

8. After writing, Jungle Flasher also reads and verifies every sector to make sure that the drive programmed correctly. Once everything is completed it will say “Write Verified OK!”

9. Success ! You can now click the Outro / ATA Reset button to take the drive out of vendor mode

X360USB PRO Install Guide

1: Download the latest drivers from http://www.x360usb.com/downloads.html

2: Extract the driver files from the .zip file

3: Make sure the switch on the X360USB is set to the OFF position (ON = bootloader mode, used for updating the X360USB)

4: Connect the provided USB cable to the X360USB and your PC

- The extra AUX power cable is only to be used if your USB ports do not output 500mA
- In this case, you use both cables to power the X360USB
- 99% of computers operate at 500mA so it will be very rare to use this cable.

Some of the driver files will now install automatically. Once finished, the remaining driver has to be installed manually.

5: Open device manager, Right-Click on X360USB PIO, and choose Update Driver Software…

6: Browse your computer for the driver files you extracted in step 2

7: Click Next

8: Ignore the Windows security warning, and choose to install the driver software anyway

9: Double check in Device Manager, to see that the driver installed correctly.

Open a terminal window and install the Java SDK by using the apt-get command. You will have to switch user to root to install the Java SDK by using:

sudo su -

enter your password

apt-get install sun-java6-jdk

If you are running the 64-bit version of Ubuntu you will have to install the ia32-libs package using the apt-get command:

apt-get install ia32-libs

Download the latest android SDK from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Create a folder and extract the android AVD and SDK files to this folder. Run the android program.

Select the available packages option.
Select the android repository and click on the install selected button.

Click on the accept all radio button.
Click on the install button and wait for the archives to install.

Click on the yes button to restart the ADB.
Click on the close button.

Select the Virtual Devices Option and click on the New button.Enter a name for your new android device like “my_device”. Select your target android version like “Android 2.3.3 API level 9”.

Click on the create AVD button.
Click on the OK button.

Select your newly created device and click on start.

Click on the Launch button.

Click on the yes button to restart the ADB.
Click on the close button.

Select the Virtual Devices Option and click on the New button.Enter a name for your new android device like “my_device”. Select your target android version like “Android 2.3.3 API level 9”.

If you want to rotate the screen on the Emulator just like you would on the phone.
Click Ctrl + F11

The 25th Annual Farmyard Party

Following on from another great Farmyard Party last year, the 2011 farmyard party will be in its 25th year, (congrats to the entire team over the years)…2011 will bring around 8000 bikers into the little town of helmsely with custom bikes, the usual Saturday ride along, and as always a vast array of bands, music and comedy, be sure to check out FyParty the Un-Official Blog for the Farmyard rally, this will keep you upto date with all things Farmyard party,

The MAG farmyard party biker rally has been the rally of rallies for me now heading into my 3rd year, still buzzing from this years experience with all the custom bikes shows and entertainment that was on, im counting down the days untill its upon us once more..

Im still hoping to drive down by myself :) instead of pilion or passenger, well…we’ll just have to see how it goes.. since 2009 i’ll be riding down with the crew from Shugtech along with a few boys that are becoming quite the regulars ;)

The guys over at ozmodchips posted their new product pre-order today, the USB drive which is suppost to let ps3 users rip games straight to either the internal or external hard drive from the blue-ray player….

Many have tried, and many have failed. The ps3 has remained totally unahcked….until. On the morning of the 19th of August 2010 we recieve a package at our store with a little software dongle, and a instructions on how to get it working.

We had been hearing scene rumors of something like this in the works, but of course until we actually get our hands on it its all a bunch of words that mean nothing. Well here are 3 videos we posted on youtube of it working.

The little tiny donlge called PS Jailbreak allows you to dump all of your original PS3 games onto a FAT32 harddrive, and play the game directly from there.

FAQ:

Q: What firmware version does PS JailBreak it work on?

A. It apparently works on a couple of old firmware verisons, but it was designed for the latest firmware version 3.41

Q. Does PS Jailbreak allow you to dump ps2 games, ps1 game, Blu ray movies?

A. No, just PS3 games.

Q. Does PS JailBreak allow every game to work?

A. Apparently 150 games have been tested, and they all work. If a game happens to have 1 file over 4gb the program will not be able to rip the game onto the harddrive. Apparently the worl around is to dump it on an internal hardrive

Q. Can I still play online with PS Jailbreak?

A. When today (19.08.2010) you can, we can’t guarantee you will never be banned for using the 3rd party device.

Q. Can Sonly block this with firmware updates?

A. Probably. The have have the USb dongle firmware upgradable, but you can never predict the future. This is made to work with 3.41. If you happen to download an install an update which is higher then this then it is your doing. We will not accept stock back as “faulty” if you have upgraded your firmware
