Hi,

All is well with me, EXCEPT at Step 19 it freezes during "Erase..."

'LITEON E' erase always works.

I've tried most methods (l-o-eras first, in JF, etc) I can always get to the last step, but then it ALWAYS freezes (in JF it erases then freezes on the first bank write)..

Cheers,
Tom

Just gonna throw in my 2 cents on my problems/misunderstandings and resolutions.

Instruction says to put DOS folder from ixtreme 1.5 onto usb stick, it works easier if you cut and paste the files in the folder to the root of the usb.
Add your hacked.bin and you should have 4 files in the root of your usb stick.

when you type DOSFLASH and have to choose your device type the number instead of the port (ie. "8" rather than "EC00") - quite possible i was the only person dumb enough to do that ;]

my other tip for convenience is that holding f1 will retype your last command so after using l-o-eras and getting the wrong code just hold f1, enter, hold f1, enter and repeat until you get the correct status.

Also for anybody who isn't 100% sure on their port (i messed up a few times because i didnt bother checking in iprep before going into dosflash) just type dosflash and whichever device says not recognise is the correct port, assuming youre on this page because you 'bricked' your lite-on so cant identift the port in JF

Many thanks and kudos for this guide

I have to assume that you are using a VIA Sata Card inside your pc to connect the drive?

do you know which port this is running on?
if so look for the l-o-eras.exe file, this can be found on the likes of xbins, or google the file, once you get this, just connect it, boot your pc into DOS, then start at STEP 4, or 5 above, and this will erase your drive, then use DOSHFLASH to write your new CFW to your drive! that should be it

Hi Julius, What methods are you using to connect your drive to your pc? are you using a tool like CK3? X360USB?

with the new jungle flasher, just hook up your drive, do straight to the mtkflash tab, and click on lite-on erase,
then follow the prompts, after the 2nd popup asking to make sure you have your key 100% etc..

wait for the command being sent, (jungleflasher log window)
turn of your drive wait 5 secs and turn it back on..

this will erase your drive, then if you have already created your custom firmware then flash that over,
or flash over your orig.bin file so its back to normal and start again..
